Knowing and Living the Way

Today’s passage is all about the Way. All about going somewhere. And about knowing how to get there.

The Way is a Person, not a thing. Jesus tells his disciples that he IS the Way. He talks about leaving, but also about where he is going and how to get there.

Jesus is encouraging his disciples before his betrayal and crucifixion. This is not a hopeless situation. “Do not let your hearts be troubled.”

The word for them is the word for us. No matter what our circumstances, “do not let your hearts be troubled”. We know the Way and he lives with us.
