Our identity in Christ is that we are new creations and adopted children of God. And with that new identity comes a ministry of peacemaking.

Today’s message is from the Sermon on the Mount in Matthew chapter 5: Blessed are the Pure in Heart, for they shall see God.

To those who truly know their own need for mercy and who have tasted the mercy of God, God gives a heart of mercy towards others.

This morning we see Jesus’ promise, “blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.” Scripture says that the greatest battle we face is an internal battle of appetites or desires. Jesus helps us train our hunger on him, his kingdom and his righteousness. By faith we can be right…

The Kingdom of Heaven is already but not yet.The King has come, is now at his father’s right hand, and is here in Spirit, but not here physically. At least not yet! King Jesus promised that He will return. Until then, we pray “Your kingdom come” and seek to live like subjects in His kingdom.

We mourn and we do not fear grief. But we do not mourn like those who have no hope. We who live for the kingdom of heaven are hopeful mourners.

This morning we see Jesus’ promised blessing for those who are broke, in spirit, that is. “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
