This morning in John 11 we encounter the most emotional story thus far in John’s Gospel. There is grief and anger, gladness and love. There is weeping.
So much feeling! What’s going on in John 11?
What’s going on is death. More specifically, the death of one of Jesus’ dear friends. In the face of death all of us have “if only” and “what if” type questions. And “if” questions always carry feeling.
But in the face of death there are facts in which to place our faith. Better yet, there is a person. Not only does Jesus give life. Not only does Jesus resurrect. Jesus is Himself the resurrection and the life.
