In this morning’s Revelation text, John hears and sees Jesus for the first time in a long time. And he falls over like he’s dead. This certainly isn’t how he remembered Jesus! And he is knocked over.

Jesus tells John not to fear. And Jesus identifies Himself as the one who is greater than death and who holds the church and her angels.The church, no matter how out of control the world seems and how persecuted she is, has no need to fear if we know who He is and whom He holds!
