If you have read through the prophets in the Old Testaments, you know that judgment is a consistent theme. And if you look at the both the reasons for and the consequences from God’s judgment upon Israel, you find a frightening similarity to what we are experiencing today. Does that mean the world is being judged by God. My answer is a definitive, “I don’t know”. But I do know that we can have the response that God called for in those days: Repent.

Over the next few weeks we will be looking at the Minor Prophets, those men with interesting names who smoldered and burned with God’s message to His stubborn people.

This morning we will see in the prophet Joel what it looks like when God is fighting against His people, and the promise that He will fight for His people.
