One of the early creeds of the church speaks of Jesus Christ as “Light of Light, very God of very God… being in one substance with the Father… by whom all things were made…”
And at Christmas time, we often hear the prophet Isaiah read (about Jesus): “The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death, a light has dawned.”
Today, we reflect on the amazing, stunning reality that the God who created the universe is none other than the baby born in the manger in Bethlehem who would live and die to redeem creation to himself.
