Is COVID-19 God’s Judgment? (Haggai)

This morning we will travel forward in time as we begin a look at the last three of the Minor Prophets, all of whom have something in common: they prophesied after the exile. So there is no more message of impending judgment and exile for their sin. That’s already happened. They have experienced destruction and a generation of exile. Now they are back in the land of Judah, trying to rebuild what was lost. And the Minor Prophets were there to proclaim the word of the Lord to a discouraged, distracted people.

This morning we will do a review of the Minor Prophets we have covered thus far and we will be asking them what they reveal about God, what they reveal about how we are to seek God, what God promises about our future, and how it all comes together in the person and work of Jesus Christ.

Whereas our hearts can become hard towards God’s grace offered through our repentance, our hearts can remain patient and hopeful that God will judge the nations and his kingdom will come.
